This page informs visitors about our Geography curriculum.

At Old Buckenham Primary School & Nursery we believe that Geography can be effective, fun and engaging when we follow an enquiry approach, taking specific questions which allow and encourage thinking and questioning. To support us in providing this, we use the Connected Geography Scheme to deliver our geography curriculum.

Our aim is to deliver engaging, quality lessons which provide children with the opportunity to develop a love of the subjects and their skills as a geographer. We aim to give children confidence to ask and answer questions, examine evidence, make links and give reasons for their ideas. We aim to use a variety of approaches to explore ideas and concepts, to enable children of all ages and levels of development to tackle and enjoy geography in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

We embrace the idea that focusing on our own locale and experiences can facilitate comparison and enable young learners to use their knowledge as a springboard and starting place to explore, learn about and understand the world.
