Welcome to the Hyenas’ class page!
Teacher: Mr Brown
Teaching assistant: Mrs Baker
Welcome back after the half term break. Myself and Mrs Baker hope you had a relaxing few weeks and are all ready and raring to go for the final half term of the year.
This half term is 6 weeks and 3 days long; the final day of the 2020-21 academic year is Wednesday 21st July. As well as being a very busy half term with all of our usual lessons and topics, this half term is extra special for the Hyenas as it is the final one that they will spend at our school. There are a range of transition activities taking place throughout this term with your chosen high schools, as well as the traditional end-of-year engagements such as prom, leavers’ trip and assembly to look forward to as well.
Some of our topics this half term include evolution and inheritance in Science, the UK’s national parks in Geography, physical and emotional changes to our bodies in PSHE and athletics in PE!
Here are some documents that you may find useful for this half term:
PE for Y6 will place on Wednesday afternoons; these lessons will be outside if the weather allows. Please ensure your child comes dressed in their PE kit, with a school fleece or jumper over the top if they wish. They should wear their trainers and bring school shoes in case these are needed to change into. Forest School will take place on Thursday afternoons.
You will find a letter from Mr Fell, the headteacher of Old Buckenham High School, about his plans for transition activities, at this link.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning that you would like to discuss with me, please make contact through Mrs Kennett in the office and I will get in touch with you as soon as I can.
Thank you for your co-operation and support in your child’s learning.
