Dear Parents and Carers,
A warm welcome back and a very big thank you for all of your hard work over the past few weeks. They have been extremely challenging, but we could not be prouder of how hard you have all continued to work.
We have lots of exciting learning coming up over the next half term. In topic we are looking at ‘The Bronze Age’ thinking of the developments that occurred during this time from the Stone Age. In English we will be looking at poetry by Grace Nichols, before moving on to persuasive writing. In Maths, we will be beginning our work on measurement.
Our Key Instant Recall facts are here: KIRF’s spring 2
PE will continue to be on Wednesdays and this term we will be practicing throwing and catching before starting to develop striking skills. Your child needs to continue to come to school dressed in the PE kit please.
Our intended curriculum for this term is here: Spring 2 curriculum map
And weekly timetables will be uploaded to the class Teams page.
Here is an overview of our termly spellings: spring 2 spellings
Spellings will be tested every Friday.
Please continue to practice your year 3/4 statutory spellings when possible. We will be testing your children on these spellings and a highlighted list of the words your child has spelled correctly will be sent home. Y3 Statutory spellings
Times tables will also be tested in school. Please help your children to practice their times tables, every day when possible, in whichever way you and your children prefer. The aim is that your child will have speedy recall of their multiplication and division facts.
Please continue to read regularly with your children and ask questions about the material they are reading.
If you have any questions that you would like to discuss with me, please contact me via email (email@example.com) or Mrs Kennett in the office and I will get back to you at the earliest opportunity.
Thank you for all of your support.
Y3 class teacher.
